Billings Equestrian offers one of the most diverse and established lesson programs in the Bay Area, providing expert instruction in English Riding, Western Pleasure, Dressage, and Jumping for all ages. Riders may focus on a single discipline or explore multiple ones, all within the supportive structure of our riding school.
Whether your goal is confidence in the saddle, mastering new skills, or preparing for competition, our program is designed to meet you where you are and move you forward. Here’s what you can expect:
• A thoughtful initial evaluation to ensure placement by age, ability, and experience
• Weekly one-hour group lessons or 30-minute private sessions; beginners start with private lessons before transitioning into group classes
• The option to continue in private sessions for riders who prefer one-on-one attention
• Engaging 45-minute unmounted horsemanship lessons (age-appropriate and group-based)
• Lesson horse and tack included
Our Process
There’s nothing like spending your days at the barn—riding, learning, laughing, and making new friends (both human and horse!). Campers get hands-on experience with grooming, tacking up, basic horse care, and, of course, riding each day. It’s the perfect mix of fun and learning, whether your rider is brand new or already horse-obsessed. Our goal is to build confidence, independence, and a love for horses—all while having an absolute blast in a safe, supportive environment. By the end of the week, don’t be surprised if your camper is begging to come back!

At Billings Equestrian, every rider’s journey is supported with our team of experienced instructors and a digital system called Trello. Our structured, innovative approach using Trello brings consistency to how we teach and to how our riders learn. With this system students can work with their instructor to:
• Set riding goals, identify skills to practice, and see milestones achieved
• Track horsemanship skills
• Share with family; parents and riders can see progress in real time, making it easy to celebrate every success
We use this system to create clarity, accountability, and a sense of accomplishment for riders and families alike.

Horse Camp!!
At the heart of our Riding School are the horses themselves—safe, kind, and wonderfully reliable partners. Each one is carefully selected for temperament and training, and supported with the very best care. From top-quality Purina feeds and supplements to regular veterinary, dental, and farrier attention, their wellbeing is always a priority. They live at one of the Bay Area’s finest equestrian facilities, where they enjoy clean, comfortable stalls, daily turnout, and consistent time off to rest and recharge. This thoughtful balance of care and downtime ensures that our lesson horses stay healthy, happy, and ready to help riders of every level learn and grow with confidence.
